Lionel Customer Service Open House was a SUCCESS!


The Lionel Customer Service Open House, held in Canfield, OH on August 16th was a huge success!

Over 450 folks attended the open house. They were able to tour the facility, meet and talk with the staff, see, first hand, our 10' x 36' test layout, technician offices and call center. They learned how we create part numbers, build exploded view photos of our products and how parts go from creation to inventory and ultimately mailed out.

We also had a raffle for a Polar Express O gauge set, a Wabash "Blue Bird" Passenger set, a Santa Fe Flyer set and 6 Lionel Engineer hats. The LCCA also donated some great door prizes, al of which were raffled off at the end of the day.

The weather could not have been more perfect! It was in the low 80's with a light breeze and NO rain! We served hot dogs, water under a tent to cool off and answered a LOT of questions. Several of the attendees were pleased that we offered this open house and were glad they were given the opportunity to come and see what improvements we have mde in Customer Service over the last couple of years.

Tom Nuzzo, from our New York City office was on hand to demonstrate and explain our Legacy system and show off all the features! Tommy was busy all day showing kids and parents alike how to operate the system!

The LCCA (Lionel Collectors Club of America) was here too passing out literature and talking with attendees about their organization and benefits of being a member. A big THANK YOU goes out to the LCCA for their donations to our door prize selection!  

North Lima Treainworks also had a table at the event explaining their role in the parts business and interacting with customers. They had a few of the parts they stock on hand, on sale and taking orders.  

We had some great specials the day of the open house and some fantastic bargains were had! The on-line 35% blanket discount seemed to be a hit as well, it appears several hundred customers took advantage of the deals to be had on-line! Thank you!

Due to the success of this years open house we will definitely begin planning for 2012! It was a great time. The Lionel Customer Service staff had a lot of fun interacting with the customers, answering questions and sharing their knowledge with customers. On behalf of the staff we just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the event, both on site and on-line, we hope those who were not able to attend this year can make it next year!
